India is well-known as the largest producer and consumer of milk in the world. The unorganized sectors of the society comprising of the traditional domestic sector have 170 million liters of the surplus milk. So in term of value, the Indian milk economy is worth Rs 5 Lakh Crore, with CAGR growth of 15-16 %. Out of the above analysis, the organized milk economy is worth Rs 80,000 Crore.
